This Sunday, September 5, 2021, we’re celebrating “Fresh Start Sunday.” Now is the time to look around you, and invite your friends and neighbors to church on Sunday. It’s a Sunday on which we will be wearing name-tags to identify ourselves, so nobody has to wonder exactly who you are. It’s a Sunday to welcome people with open arms, showing the love of Christ to everyone who walks through our doors.
We’re still working through some of the finer points as to what it will actually look like, especially with the new surge of Covid-19 variants in our area. Regardless of the final details, be confident that those you invite will hear the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ – the redemption that Pastor Michael has been speaking of this summer. They will hear, as Paul preached, that “Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.” They will be given the opportunity to truly make a fresh start!
So, come, join us. Be prepared to put on a name tag, and then to “welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.”
